I am entitled to 'quit' from the news group if I want. I believe.

I should try asking Ed Schroder, Bob Hyatt or Enrique Irazoqui why I posted my
password and username rather than just announce a departure, or even not
announce a departure.

I think you'll find one of them would be able to work it out.
