Having tried both Chessmasters site, and the ICC site, I would much
prefer to play on ICC where I can compete freely with GM, IM, and other
high rated players to test my ability against a known quantity. At
Chessmaster Live, you never know what a players real rating is, and
therefore have no way to even come close to estimating your own
strength.
Also, it is much easier (to me) to use the Blitzin interface, as you
can use the graph challenges to pick games and controls. In CM Live I
feel that the layout is not as well thought out for the players.
Anyway, perhaps you should try FICS, or use a search engine to find
outher sites. However, my suggestion is to take some time and learn all
of the Blitzin commands before you jump to the conclusion that ICC is
not a solid site to play.
Good luck in your search.
