I've not played on ICC, but I do play on FICS and Chess Net - both
of which are quite similar to ICC. I have also tried CM live.
My personaly opinion is that (with the right interface) FICS is
superior.  The only difficulty with FICS (or ICC) is that the learning
curve is a little steeper than CM live, so you need some time before
you can appreciate all of the features.

P.S.  The interface you choose is important to your experience.
There are lots of choices.  Blitzin is supposed to be good (I use
the old ZIICS instead and sometimes Winboard), but I would register
it so you can use the nice bitmapped piece sets.
