I want to note about the fritz game against deep blue jr deep saw that o-o was a mistake but like countless other games i read a communication line dropped or something to that effect and so it played the wrong move. It's in monty newborns book Kasparov versus deep blue. I would not bet fyi that any software on off the shelf hardware is going to win 1 game out of 10 or 100 against deep blue if they put the thing back together if you don't believe me take game 6 of the first match and follow the moves backwards for deep blue's side you will see that even your best chess programs take days if not months to pick moves that deep blue did. The only way for crafty or junior or fritz or whatever to win is: 1 special hardware 2 Highly Tuned Book 3 and i forgot who said this (might have been fischer)lots and lots of help from a GM. Someone saying db was playing at 2400 level is BS kasparov may not have played best in either match but at a minimum the comp played 2535. positionally and when it came to tactics 2650+ that is just the first match the second i can't comment on for the main reason games 1 is not from the same person or thing as games 2,3,4,5, or 6. Gee i bet if you could tune your program between every move if you could you would hehe. one thing is key find some software that solves every positional problem from the Bratko-Kopec, LCTII, Test Your Positional Play, Hedlund, Think Like a GM, and the others i found from different test sets. most likely several programs would do it not just 1 not yet, put these programs to work together and you will have something that will give kramnik deep blue or kasparov a good game. Just make sure it looks atleast 20 full ply at any position just kidding i think 12 - 16ply is enough.
