DB (97) rating 2862. DJ (00) rating 2702, DJ (01) version on 8xPIII 1GHZ rating aprox: 2750. DJ could be Deep Junior, Deep Shredder, Deep Fritz, Deep Tiger, Deep Rebel, P. Conners and perhaps others on strong hw. About 100 points difference. I am no expert, but here is a guess (just for fun) :) 11 to 9 in favor of DB. I think we are very close and on faster hw which is just around the corner (twice as fast) the results will be in favor of the commercials by .5 points. Extraneous factors in DB favor: New hw would improve results, Newer opening book would improve results, Tuning for challenger would improve results. Lack of exposure of actual games. Extraneous factors for challenger: Tuning for DB could improve results, stronger hardware (16x SMP for exmple) could improve results, Strong and active team of sw developers.
