Note especially the chess data found here:
ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/a-openings/
ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/b-openings/
ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/c-openings/
ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/d-openings/
ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/e-openings/
You will need bzip2 to extract the data. You can get that here:
ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/Scid/bzip2.exe
Also, the SCID stuff has been updated:
ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/Scid
SCID has a lot of nice, new features. Also included is 2.44 million games in
SCID format in this SCID database:
ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/Scid/junkbase.sg.bz2
ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/Scid/junkbase.si.bz2
ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/Scid/junkbase.sn.bz2
(again, you need bzip2 to extract).
There are some MMX update programs here, also:
ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/chess-engines/new-approach/
{crafty and pepito}
which use a particularly clever MMX bit count algorithm for speedup. G.C.P.
gave the algorithm to me.
