I suppose many programmers would get their que from the briliant attacking wins that humans not too seldom produce against their programming offspring. Some programmers are more concerned about accuracy and have conservative positional factors, pruning and extensions, others may be thinking that all factors are subjective and trying for another dynamic balance. For example: If your search is deep enough you could try to discard with material alltogether, as the positional factors if tuned for this would have enough information to play a good game.
