If you go to:

you'll see lots of Macintosh chess software.

A couple of nice programs you can check out for free:
Sigma  Chess Lite: http://www.sigmachess.com/
and ExaChess Lite: http://www.exachess.com/
Sigma Chess won the freeware Mac chess tournament I held - see:
http://www.atpm.com/7.02/chess.shtml
for results and a couple of reviews.

The strongest chess program for the Mac is HIARCS 7,
(though the interface is a bit clunky) - I put some purchase links
in the article above, and a review at:

There's also a Mac megabase CD called Essentia:
