Try this feature out. It should help you to log-file what happened during the search process. You can log-file whole games to save all important data for further analysis. > >Best regards, >Eric Eric you are absolutely right. CSTal commercial CD has a repetition bug. This bug was in the program for a long time. As I said one Aegon tournament i had 5 draws and 1 win or arround this and people called it Chess System Draw. Despite this NAME it played NICE draws, attacking games where it sacced a piece and suddenly forced a draw by repetition to the surprise of the opponent who thought he would lose the game. Of course the versions on the Oxford Server do not have this bug. In my tournament vs. Fritz5 I do play with the commercial CD-version because it is sold THIS way in the shops and only people with Internet are able to download the latest fixes. So far I have played 14 tournament 40/120 games manually. 8 games were draw. 3 wins for CSTal. 3 wins for Fritz5. It does not looks like CSTal loses badly against Fritz5. Nor seems Fritz5 able to get 72 % :-)) Maybe after my match I could try to test how the cstwhite/cstblack bug-fixed versions play. Or - if you want YOU could test some games/matches and maybe email me. My email is mclane@prima.ruhr.de Thanks. IMO if you can win a game, it is not important if you make a draw out of it (due to a bug in the code) or win the game. You were able to force the opponent in a losing position. Thats enough. Killing him is not needed. Be a pacifist and call your enemy your friend and give him a new birthday, make a draw and both you and he is happy. So this CStal bug is very human, IMO.
