The CSTWhite has improved a lot!. But you have to test CSTBlack as well. I think the CSTBlack will score better against programs as predicted by Chris. Last Sunday Three A class chessplayers met to test both versions. The feeling we had is that CSTBlack has a merciless Petrosian-Karpovian way to increment the advantages and doesn't give any chance. The CSTWhite plays different. It goes thru more risky positions and, altough is not true, the human thinks it haves a chance to win. I have several games against Humans and against Fritz5.01 as well. By the way, I put both programs in different computers. The CSTBlack in a K6233 mhz with 32 meg RAM, and Fritz5.01 in a P133 with 32 meg RAM and Powerbooks on hard drive. I played two 60 min. games and two 40/2:30 games. CSTBlack won one of the 60 min. games and the others were draw.I'm expecting to have 10 games and swap the machines. By now I cannot say which is stronger.Fritz5.01 looks more dinamical than CSBlack. I will also test CSWhite against Fritz5.01. I think is not fair to subestimate Chris and Thorsten. They have done a MIRACLE. If they have been attacked so much is because they are becoming stronger and stronger. I'm sure CSTal will have a better result on next WCCC. If you are interested in the games I have I can send them to you. I'm also interested in the games you may have.
