I think my ideal chess computer will arrive when digital paper becomes a reality. I think by this point, you will have a low power processor with relatively high NPS also. So I would like these things: 1. Pen interface 2. Light weight (eight ounces is about right), 3. *High* contrast touch sensitive screen. 4. Voice recognition and recording. I will bet that a hardware package like this exists in less than eight years (shooting from the hip). My thought is that processing power will not be an issue, rather the most important factors in the design of this device will be basic stuff like the display, weight, etc. But a device like this could be used for the publication and dissemination of chess material, while allowing for the user to do voice annotation, with computer assistance, if need be.
