Hi Gian-Carlo: The first thing that you must to know is YOU CAN generate the KNNKP table with 256 MB of RAM. In order to build it, do the followings steps: 1. Go to the Corbit's FTP and download the TBGENV file. This archive is one tbgen.exe specially modified to allow using more than 256 MB of virtual memory. 2. Work only under Windows, in order to diminish to a minimum the swapping. 3. Don't allow that Windows manages the virtual memory. Set yourself a swap file of 256 MB at least and then defrag your hard disk. 3. First, make sure of having a complete set of 4 man tablebases in a non-compressed format. 4. Use this statement: tbgenv -m 256 -p 256 -v -d [tablebases dir] [tablebase to build] For example: tbgenv -m -p 256 -v -d C:\TBs KNNKP 5. Observe that you have not to use the parameter -c 6. Build first those tables without pawns. So you should generate KNNKQ, KNNKR, KNNKB, KNNKN before building the KNNKP table. This steps really work and you should be able to generate the KNNKP without problems and WITHOUT SWAPPING. I made it. Antonio
