Chris,

Having posted the first round of my Tourney, some ICC members told me that the
speed of my computers (1 Pentium 4 1.4 Ghz and 1 Pentium 3 Dual 2x933) was not
optimal. I not only changed my ME by MS Pro 2000, but also re-installed cleanly
all the programs. The result has been OK. An example, in my Pentium 3 dual, Deep
Fritz got only about 800.000 nps in the middle game whilst now it averages
roughly 1.300.000 nps, with peaks above 1.600.000. I can not say that ME was the
only causant of the previous problems, but the improvement has been clear.

By the way, the difference in speed between both computers is enormous. I need
the Pentium 4 for other 'non-chess' purposes, but I would never recommend it to
people trying to get the best performance only for chess.

Regards,

Tom.
