Hi dave: i received my tiger-chessbase cd last week and spent hrs every night
(staying up till 200am sometimes)trying to ge it to work-i had exactly the same
problem as you had-finally by trial and error i've got it to work -

1)do a full install of all the chessbase programmes
2)copy all the opening books to the hard drive
3)as someone mentioned, in one of the posts, its best to try to run the eng-eng
matches in the tiger gui rather than the others as i think this is the most bug
free programme(at least most accomodating as far as guest engines are concerned)
4)first of all make sure that the guest engine is unloaded fom its own
interface(eg if running tiger vs junior, unload junior from its own gui, even
though you ar going to quit the programme)
5)open the tiger programme and select the engines you want to play, along with
whichever opening books you choose

this should do the trick-its worked for me
