I have no intention of participating in the "Fritz Vote", because I am sure that I will not have sufficient understanding of the issues involved to have a reasonable opinion. I believe I have read all the posts on this subject up to now, however, and I do have some questions. What is going on here? Is this just a debate over the fairness of SSDF rating procedures? Is it a serious debate over the comparative strength of the top commercial programs? Or is this chess politics of some kind? If so, what are the issues? If I had been following this newsgroup longer, perhaps I would know the answers to these questions. Sorry if I am rehashing old issues. But remember, there will always be new people looking around and wondering what is going on, and I really don't understand why anyone would want to put this to a "vote". Marc
