All of the above would be true if the results of a poll
had some importance in actually changing the course of
history. The reality of this little CCC experiment is
to get a sense of what the majority is thinking.

Perhaps 1 out of 20 people who attends a newsgroup actually
post something, and perhaps 1 out of 200 actually posts
the greatest percentage of posts. The effect of this is
that a minority view is sometimes seen as a majority
view.

I just read a newbie post today in rgcc by someone who
was asking who Bob Hyatt is and why is he so bad. It is
safe to say that a pole of rgcc readers would show to
the chess community at large that Bob is one of the most
knowledgeable and helpful people to ever grace the
rgcc.
