Subject: yet another chessmaster 8000 personality

Author: Bill McGaugh

Date: 10:19:02 05/02/01

For those interested, I have some new CM8000 settings to experiment with...

The personality, which I call mg1, has achieved the following results, playing
in the Chessmaster Gui:

At game in 5, it

beat Cr 17.14 (the best crafty, in my opinion) 60-40
beat Nimzo2000b 53-47
beat Zarkov 4.5g 67.5-37.5 (105 games)

At game in 10, it

beat cr 17.14, 60.5-39.5

At game in 30, it
beat zarkov 4.5g 8-4

At 40/40, it
beat Cr 17.14 25-10
beat zarkov 4.5g 22-8
beat nimzo2000b 11-4
beat CM 8000 (default) 8-3

Games have been played on a 450 Pentium II and a 550 Pentium III...
I have auto232 and a number of strong programs, but I haven't had the chance
to do auto232 or play games by hand...but I will...

If you get a chance, try the mg1 settings (below), especially at 40/40...I
don't think you'll be disappointed...I haven't been, so far..and please email
me any results...or post them here..

settings: mg1
Style:A/D = -5; SS=12;
Positional M/P 5; CoC=105; Mob=115; KS=150; PP=110; PW=125
Material: Queens 10.5, Rooks 5.4, Bishops 3.4, Knights 3.3, Pawns 1.0

everything else is the default...
