I think the whole thing should be dropped. This has the potential for
dragging on for months, and the debate up until now hasn't been exactly
productive.

The SSDF is a volunteer organization. They do this stuff for fun. If
they made a mistake, it might be wise to point it out to them, but a
huge long controversy may make them feel like their work is not
appreciated, and they may stop doing it.

This is a problem when you have a small body of people actually doing
something, and a much larger body criticizing everything they do. The
group who are doing the work don't have fun anymore.

The founders of this group got a taste of this when I second-guessed
some of their decisions recently.

And you're probably getting a taste of it too, having to deal with those
bozos on r.g.c.c. who exist only to disparage everything that isn't
completely entropic, including this board, which is a service that I am
grateful for and that I hope you continue to provide.

The SSDF has gotten enough of this recently and doesn't need more, and
this voting thing is just going to stir up more.
