If you disagree with their actions and explanations, or even one or the other, you cannot express unconditional gratitude at the same time. That would be hypocritical behaviour IMO. So if you sincerely believe that they did their best then you're also vouching for the validity of their decisions and taking a stand in the debate. You could plead ignorance on the events so far, but I don't think that is your intention. Especially since the little thank you notes have been issued to Bertil, Enrique and Amir Ban seemingly without rudimentary reflection. If you want to thank someone for doing their best to arrange a match then the obvious choice would be BGN and maybe ChessBase. They could easily have done it without Bertil and Enrique. It wasn't difficult. Mogens.
