Here it is. Please note: There have been some hysterical attacks from a competitor who apparently has grave problems with the excellent Fritz5 results that are being reported from all over the world. Do not be misled. The Fritz engine that played in Sweden and in the Selective Search tests is exactly the same as the one you get in the Fritz5 box. There is no "secret formula-1 Fritz" which we are holding back from our customers (why on earth would we ship an inferior version?). All games played in Sweden can easily be reproduced using a standard, off-the-shelf Fritz5. And the positions of the Nunn Test were selected by Dr John Nunn without any pre-testing with a computer. It is insidious to suggest that he was working in collusion with ChessBase and somehow chose positions that favoured Fritz. How can you do that in a wide variety of main-line openings? No, Fritz is simply very, very strong. Our competition is just going to have to accept that. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
