Because it performed well ? Pepito is a reasonably strong program . OK, my opinion about the test : a.) There is some easy to mediocre opening tactics ( difficult for a handheld but easy for PC engines ) b.) There are some difficult positional problems connected to opening play - I especially like CCR 4 and CCR 10 Those superior engines that weren't told a lot about opening play will perform just as well as the amateurs that are able to solve the tactical positions and have no special knowledge about the patterns you need to solve those positions . In average there is still a gap of about 50 points between the commercials and the amateurs anyway btw . I don't know if it is a good test - it's interesting to look at the results of the ones where every move was posted . And : Comet seems to do something right here , doesn't it ? If you take out all the programs usually not found in lists like this one , they seem to be quite neatly ordered again. pete PS : I have some first expectations how some other commercials would be ranked - let's see if someone invests a little time and posts his/her results .
