I doubt that very much! I've also read that a sentient computer (HAL) may exist by 2051. The simple truth of the matter is no one really knows! In almost every sense supercomputers beat "HAL 9000", more memory, faster speeds, and take up less room, but are nowhere close to actual human reason, as they don't reason, they process data and some store new information over time via their programs and/or hardware, so-called computer learning and utilise this new information to their advantage, sometimes it fails. My guess is since the human brain is so complex, it will be sometime yet before it is understood well enough to build a machine that can truly emulate the human brain, thus giving it a mind; Hence "cogito, ergo sum!" "I think therefore I am!" Terry McCracken.....Who is bored enough to write this drivel!;)
