Dear CCC,

Should I get the machine with a combo DVD/CDRW and a 60 gibabyte hard drive?  I
want to do what is right for my wife.  I was thinking of the Epiq line of
machines  http://www.epiqpc.com  but I am not so sure about the quality.

Then I hear that a lot of you use the full version Windows 2000 or NT.  I am
told that "nps" figures are better than Windows Millennium Edition for most
compatible chess programs.

When I get this chess machine I only want to do what is right for my wife.
