Also we have produced a new book. The old book of using 1.500.000 games and getting 520 MB size was not good enough. The new CSTal autoplayer is not commercially available and the new book 3.2 Gigabyte big. The new Tablebases at the tip check needs a fast SCSI device. Chris will send the special hardware soon to you. Exactly 4 pc's for your testers. They have 256 MB for hashing and use the new Intel-CPU that is a beta in the moment, but very fast. Of course the new executable is not the same as the release version. The special CSTal autoplayer asks before each match for the name of the opponent. Their is a list with all possible opponents Fritz5, Mchess7, Hiarcs6 etc. The tester has to choose the opponent from the list. Without this choice the autoplayer will not run. In Oxford we have played many autoplayer-games so far. Chris has now 15 autoplayer pairs producing enough data. After this a special book is chosen that has only autoplayer-winning-lines against this opponent. Before the first computation of CSTal a message will appear telling the tester the outcome=result of the game and asking if he want to continue or start another winning game (this nice feature has copyrights by Dirk Frickenschmidt ! We thought it is an innovative idea). From time to time the new autoplayer we designed sends ALT-M or ALT-S or ALT-G or commands like this to the opponent machine to interrupt their search-process, after 1 second computation ! This will only be done after mid-night and before the sun rises again. With this little nice feature we were able to increase the general winning % from 72% up to 88 % performance. I hope you like our new support of your hardware and software lack. Of course you can keep the machines after the test. Also chris wants to pay a special fee to give you a compensation for the electricity-costs (these new pc's need much cooling-device-electricity). This is of course only a joke. But I could not resist Thoralf ! Best wishes.... Thorsten. Do you accept our special requests ??? We only want to get as much rights as ChessBase got. I think this is fair, since you allowe them to support you too.
