As I'm sure you understood, I was just teasing a little (as always, sigh). I
thought your post was nice; for me, it's always nice to see something personal
in a post, and that's why I responded.

And when I did, I didn't even remember what was coming out of my speakers at
solving time, although it probably was some Corrs mp3, my favorite (Irish) group
at the moment (I can hear you shriek & see you shudder :). What I did know was
what I was hearing when responding ... Brahms! Wonderful symphonies, just wish I
had No. 3 & 4 too, am looking for those!

Thanks for asking, Djordje! Don't know what you want to hear of course, but I
started it a couple of years ago, just after TSCP came out. Used Tom's sources
as a framework, but what's in TSCP, isn't in Pretz anymore (sorry Tom! :).

Rewrote everything, and added a lot of stuff like nullmove, hash tables,
aspiration search, fractional extensions, egtb support, ?etc? :) & a nice GUI
using Borland C++Builder. It can read/write PGN/EPD files, and there's copy &
paste to im/export positions, pv's & game notations.

After an initial programming rage of some months, didn't do much on it until
this January, when I got my inspiration back, and since then altered a lot again
(for mates/combinations especially) ... changed too much, am having some
stability problems now. :)

It's not a "real" chessprogram, I use it just for analysis, eg. it can only
search to a fixed/infinite ply/time, no winboard compatibility, no pondering.

But I can play against it, and it can play against itself. I'm adding TascBoard
stuff to it at the moment, since I have that board, will be nice.

Ahh well ... it's just a hobby for me, to keep me off the streets, I'm not
trying to create another monster for you guys, I don't think I'll ever have the
&^% to release it!

Groetjes,
Paul
