Seeing what some people claim they are now doing as a reaction to the
not publically available autoplayer for Fritz 5 gives in my opinion an
impressive hint about how they would use the autoplayer *if they could*
to achieve their ultimate goal: The "destruction" of ChessBase.

If nothing else, Weiners present behaviour alone justifies in my opinion
the autoplayer policy of ChessBase. Fritz with its strictly encyclopedic
book created from GM databases without any tuning against computers
would be even more vulnerable than other programs to book cooking if
somebody just tried hard enough - and there's some folks around who
right now demonstrate by their passionate hatred that they would be
quite capable and willing to do so and even have the money to spend on
such an effort (demonstrated by numerous anti-Fritz advertising
campaigns in German magazines).
