For me off topic discussions like this one are OK for the simple reason that the
people taking part to it are known as regular contributors to computer chess.

I don't mind off topic discussions as this one for this reason, and also because
I know it won't last long. The people know it's off topic, they are known as
reasonable posters, and they will moderate themselves.

I do not see this place as Computer Chess Club only but as a place where people
mostly interested in computer chess meet everyday and talk with each other. They
talk mostly about computer chess, but sometimes it is not about chess. That's
what happens in any club anyway...

I would find it extremely strange, if I want to talk about O(n) with Dann, to
have to go somewhere else. Assuming it does not last for 3 months of course.
