Strange to notice however that every subject considered off topic (or provocative or whatelse) seems to raise the most indepth discussions. Discussion fundamentals I often miss in other threads. It's basically the (not too strict) decision between a "discussion forum" and a "message board". Somehow I get only a bit irritated by reading message with plump (and seriously meant) statements without any explanation, foundation or pointer to what the poster means with it. Otherwise the subject may or may not be trigger my interest, but I never get annoyed by them, how far off topic they sometimes seem. I think for me *communication* with peers is more important than *messaging*. But that's what it is for me, of course. YMMV. J.
