The cost, however, compared to the possible gain doesn't seem out of proportion. All business is risky in nature. But they may have felt that the qualifier parameters and the significance of a possible loss weren't reasonable. I would have taken the chance if givn the option. The other scenario vented here a few times indirectly by Thorsten is the possible coorperation between CB and Millennium. I believe the reference was to the good natured talks between Feist and Weiner at Paderborn. Personally, I have a hard time swallowing that explanation, ie. "cash without risk" to Millennium for withdrawing and an exclusive match for ChessBase. It's farfetched IMHO. Mogens.
