No, but you could call the files sh5.*, where * denotes the different extensions (init, bmp, rc, eng). I've renamed them all Shredder.* . My structure is as follows using your fritz path: 1) In c:\fritz\engines I have: Shredder.eng (renamed WinBoard adapter from CB) and a folder called Shredder. 2) In the Shredder folder (c:\fritz\engines\shredder) there are: Shredder.exe (UCI-WB adapter previouslu sh5.exe) Shredder.init (Previously sh5.init) Shredder.rc (Adapter config file, previously sh5.rc). Shredder.bmp (Shredder logo). You can replace the Shredder prefix with anything you like as long as you do it everywhere. >This looks for the shredder program directory or does it have to be in a >specific place? Mine is c:\shredder for the actual shredder 5 program. You can set the dir in the .rc file, so it can be placed anywhere. Try checking the Shredder folder. There is an executable called engine.exe. That is the Shredder engine we're interested in connecting to. This means that you can copy the file engine.exe (and maybe rename it) to any location you want as long as you change the path (and if you rename it, also the name) in the .rc config file. Hope I didn't make it more confusing. Mogens.
