So you don't think a GM has _already_ spent 100X that much time studying the game _anyway_??? Don't sell the GMs short. They have a tremendous desire to win. If they can get an edge, they will. Kramnik knows someone that has basic computational skills with computer chess. He will know how to simulate the program's tactical skill without necessarily having an 8-way box handy. And in fact, he might _easily_ arrange time on an 8-way box. IE I have 10 4-way boxes in my lab...
