Subject: Amazing stroopwafel Jeroen "strikes" again

Author: Jeroen van Dorp

Date: 13:12:29 05/13/01

In the by now famous balcony series (see
http://home.wxs.nl/~jimvandorp/balconychess.jpg)
Gandalf 4.32h lost on *time*.... amazing. It missed the first check at 40
minutes by only three moves, but it did.

Maybe it sees me as its surrogate "mother" and decided I needed a present at
mother's day...:)

On the above link (jpeg, 73Kb) you can see me overconfident behind the board
(look at the T-shirt, it has "chess" written all over it, bought by Van Stockum
in The Hague), but my cigar went out soon and so went my hopes, until....

Of course the game was totally lost for me, as I was playing my own, well known
lousy level (=level D-minus).

Here's the game, with some high level comment as a compensation.
Put it in your database, one day it will be a relic (from a different age).

(Empty.ctg means Gandalf uses it's own opening book. It's a Wolga-Benkö. Playing
on a PIII-750@840MHz)

Okay then, don't put it in your database, suit yourself.
