Having completed 100 G/60 games against the Chessmaster default personality, I have finished my testing of CM_Utzinger. Here's the final tally: 100 G/10: Chessmaster 51.0, CM_Utzinger 49.0 (+30 =42 -28) 100 G/60: CM_Utzinger 57.5, Chessmaster 42.5 (+37 =41 -22) So, it appears that Kurt is on to something here. PERHAPS I might test CM_Utzinger at a faster time control (perhaps G/5 or G/3), as it seems to hold its own at G/10 against the default. But, for now, I'm going to test CMFun, as some of the settings (particular the piece values) are surprisingly different than the default. One thing I have noticed, though, that appears to be common among most of the personalities that have been touted as superior to the default, is that the King Safety value is noticeably higher than the default, usually somewhere between 140 and 160. Just something to think about.... jm
