He could try to save his layout, then reset to factory settings, restart the
program, let Fritz ask for the CD, then feed it to Fritz, and load his own
layout again.

In cases where Fritz starts to ask for CD's excessively, this surely helps. See
Steve Lopez' T-notes for more info on that.
