For those of you interested in the May 22, 2001 edition of PC Magazine p. 72 IBM, Sony and Toshiba plan on developing an advanced chip architecture for broadband devices. Code named Cell, the new chip will take advantage of IBM's copper interconnect, silicon-on-insulator, and low-power dielectric technologies and will have features measuring 0.1 micron...... IBM touts the upcoming chip as more powerful than the IBM Deep Blue Supercomputer and singularly capabale of teraflop performance....... Hope some of you enjoyed this tid-bit
