My first computer was a Sinclair ZX Spectrum and I had that same printer with baco-foil roll. At least I got an 'O' level in computer studies with it! If you are missing out on experiencing chess on your ZX81, then, although I haven't looked, I bet there is a ZX81 emulator on the web somewhere and that 1k program too. Matthew
