Sorry , you two - I completely missed your posts .

CCR 22 is a position out of the famous first game of the USSR v. World match on
board 2 in Belgrade 29/03/1970 .

It has been analyzed heavily back then - 11. a4 was a novelty by Fisher .

If you take up any current opening book about Caro Kann you'll find this game
quoted as it is thematic . 9. ...e6?! is marked as dubious ( ...Qb6 and ...a6
are supposed to be better ) and 11. a4! as the move taking advantage of this .

It's easier for a human here as black playing ...Bb5  is a thematic idea in
this variation anyway .

So the burden to prove there is anything better than 11.a4 is for the silicons I
think ; I am positive some of them will pick a4 sooner or later btw - many had
mainlines like 0-0 Bb5 evaluating the position as even .
