Instead of building 2 different Gui's, it would be better to combine the best of Fritz GUI (opening book/database/engine tournaments) and the best of Shredder GUI (triple / octal or multi brain) into 1 freeware GUI to which noncommercial and commercial engines be added, all engines using 1 and the same protocol (either UCI, either Winboard protocol). The commercial engines could still come with their personal opening book, database, engines settings/personalities, logos, etc but not changing the standard GUI. Pete
