If all the same rules apply in chess, except no queens on d1 and d8 in the starting position, would all softwares jump at least 100 points against grandmasters? Do you think winning would get that much harder since additional plies can be sought by the computer? The game would be less complex and by using additional parallel processors it would make the machine rarely lose. (Like I've said the GM needs "a closed game with a queen" to win.)
