Martin, The P4 is not too good when it comes to chess or checkers. Most programs run much slower than a P3 mhz for mhz :-(. However Intel will produce faster core speed than the P3 but in the future it will only be when Intel releases a 2.5 Ghz P4 chip that it will be the fastest. Steve PS Apparently the Intel compiler can produce P4 optimised code which does run faster.
