Depends a bit on the program. The PIV has a very different architecture to the
PIII. Some programs will like it, some won't.

It might be worth checking out your cpu fan. There are rumours that when a PIV
starts to overheat, it reduces its clock speed (which does make it run cooler).
Apparently it is hard to tell when it does this, except it gets slower. If you
PIV is always running hot, maybe it's not really running at 1.4GHz.
