Hi John:
In fact a lot of programs fulfil what you want. I would say Fritz,
CM5000 or 5500, CSTAL and specially the Tasc Chess Cd with the strong
Chessica program ANd a tutorial full of tactical problems, with lessons
from beginner to something like an experienced player. And it is not
expensive. Tasc Chess Cd I believe ius the veru best for the kid, but
sure if someelse answer this too, you will get another advice.
