Subject: What year can we expect to see a 2800 level PC program

 Considering the fact the Deep jr and Fritz recently got 2700+ performance
ratings in Super Gm Tourneys. The hardware race is spirling out of control,
every three months something better and faster comes out. Is it remotely in the
realm of possibility that we will have a program, competitive with Garry
kasparov at 40/2, within five years. I would expect the progress of programming
to improve steadily along with hardware advances. Should not pc programs run as
fast as atleast Deep Thought2, with more sophisicated programming.
