I think it's the Visor Platinum. By default it runs at 33MHz, and it seems that
it can be overclocked up to... 47MHz!!!
Apparently it can very often be overclocked to 45MHz. The 47MHz guy has been
very lucky.
The speed difference is not only the clock ratio. There are other hardware
speedups that can be controlled by the overclocking program, like the number of
RAM wait states. They have been designed for slow RAM chips, but todays RAM can
work flawlessly without any wait state for example.
Like you, I was extremely surprised when I learned about Palm overclocking. On
the PC I was used to a few percent gain, on the Palm you gain several times the
original speed!
And you don't even need to mess with the hardware!
