I wrote this to Frank Q: Hey Frank! I'm pretty touched about all the attention you have given my program, and the way that you have spread it to so many people. I didn't think that it would get so much attention, because it's really not a very good engine yet, IMO. All my energy is going into the new version, which wont be finished quite yet. But with all the attention that ones engine gets when it is released, I really am considering using a week on fine-tuning version 0.88 and make a version 0.89, which would then be the final version before version 1.0 Because with relative little effort, version 0.88 could be made a good deal stronger; it does have some rather experimental evaluation terms etc. at the moment. For example, it will sometimes place a knight on a3 in the opening, or block a center pawn with Bd3 or something ugly like that. It has eval-terms to deal with this, but as I said, the evaluation in this version is not polished, so some values are set to somewhat weird values. I can't wait to finish version 1.0 :) ---------------------- I just wanted to say thanks to the people here that have had the guts to download the engine and try it out etc.
