This is mostly right, Michael, but let me add some infos:
Chess Tiger for Palm is COMPLETE port of Chess Tiger 14.1 (which is an evolution
of the Chess Tiger 14 program currently sold by Shröder BV under the name
Rebel-Tiger, by ChessBase under the name Chess Tiger, and by Convekta in their
ChessAssistant 6.0 product).
The Chess Tiger engine running in the Palm has ALL the knowledge and algorithms
of Chess Tiger 14.1 for PC, everything but the endgame tablebases (for obvious
reasons).
ChessGenius for Palm is the port of the famous "Mephisto Roma", computer chess
world champion in 1987. This program is very well adapted for the processor you
find in the Palm. Its author is Richard Lang, author of Chess Genius for PC and
of many Mephisto programs including Mephisto Genius.
ChessGenius for Palm costs $25 (you can find it on all major Palm sites, see
http://www.palmgear.com for example, or http://www.chessgenius.com ).
Chess Tiger for Palm is not a commercial program yet. The text mode version is
currently given away for free (http://www.chesstiger.com or
http://www.palmgear.com ).
