Probably Germany has the best chess programs/programmers. Certainly that's true per capita. Then again, I don't know the population of Guadaloupe, so maybe that island has the lead with one of the world's best programs and a small population. Here is a pretty good list of chess programmers: http://members.aol.com/herrmannaw/indexa.html There are a lot of good programmers in the US now, but I suspect that the total in Europe is much higher. I don't think it matters much where they come from. It is interesting to yammer on about it once in a while, and I do wonder why that portion of Europe (Germany/Netherlands/Belgium/Switzerland/CzeckRepublic/Austria/Denmark) produces so many good ones. Must be the water. Can I have a glass?
