Several weeks ago I posted a message about an intelligent computer [a possible real life Hal].At that stage I had no details on this computer. Last night on a programme called "Aftershock"[www.abc.com/aftershock]they talked about it in great depth.One robot specialist claims that with enzyme technology[that's one step up from nano technology]they'll be able to create all manner of different artificial life forms. Anyway the robot is called Kismet and is being developed at the Uni of Massachusetts.A professor Turkle is in charge.Kismet is capable of writing stories.Jusy how long before it challenges Kasparov is anyone's guess.
