I think it is true because Tiger has a better branching factor.

On the other hand, NOBODY (or almost) will ever play 40/2h games on the Palm, so
what is the point in spending thousands of hours evaluating a program at a time
control that is never going to be used?

99% of the Palm users will play at time controls faster than game in one hour...
