Your site has an advantage I think: Most computer chess web pages are "mainstream", in other words, they are about (pc-) software. The number of handheld-, or of board chess computer pages is much smaller, which may be the reason for relatively more visitors & hits. I benefit from that too partially, idealistically (but not financially... :o). Some international institution should really pay us homepage webmasters for the hits... after all, it's us who make the bytes go round on the net! Advertising tends to keep visitors away IMO, unless you really have something very valuable to offer at the site. I was also interested in such hit counters since I have a chess hompage. It adds a lot of joy to this part of the hobby IMO. I was satisfied with NedStat, but they started to launch pop-up advert windows when viewing the results, so I have added Stats4all to my page a view days ago. If you like to compare: My statistics are public (see at the bottom of the title page): http://meineseite.i-one.at/PermanentBrain/ Is there a link to your statistics (if not secret)? Computer chess is really an international hobby. Hits come from all over the world, including most exotic countries. One of the most effective ways to get more visitors is (according to my experience), when you can manage to have your page listed by the www.dmoz.org web directory. This catalogue is used by very many websearch services, which provides a kind of snowball effect. Of course I have added my URL wherever else possible too... :o) Regards, M.Scheidl
